STRATEGIC APPROACHES WE USE TO HELP YOU RECEIVE THE MONEY THAT IS LEGALLY OWED TO YOU

Collecting judgments can be a challenging process, but there are several strategies we consider in obtaining the money you deserve. Keep in mind that the effectiveness of these methods may vary based on the specifics of the case and the debtor’s financial situation.

OUR METHODS FOR COLLECTING JUDGMENTS

RESEARCH THE DEBTOR’S ASSETS:

Conduct a thorough investigation to identify the debtor’s assets, including real estate, bank accounts, vehicles, and personal property.

LEARN MORE

WAGE GARNISHMENT:

If allowed by state law, we may be able to obtain a court order for wage garnishment, where a portion of the debtor’s wages is deducted to satisfy the judgment.

LEARN MORE

BANK LEVIES:

Similar to wage garnishment, a bank levy allows us to seize funds directly from the debtor’s bank account to satisfy the judgment.

LEARN MORE

REAL PROPERTY LIENS:

If the debtor owns real estate, we can place a lien on their property, which means they can’t sell or refinance it without satisfying the judgment.

LEARN MORE

PERSONAL PROPERTY LIENS:

Liens can also be placed on the debtor’s personal property, preventing them from selling or transferring ownership until the debt is paid.

LEARN MORE

DEBTOR EXAMS:

Calling in the Debtor to explain assets and their financial position as a way of finding out what could be collected.

LEARN MORE

RENEW AND EXTEND THE JUDGMENT:

Judgments usually have a limited lifespan. If the debtor hasn’t satisfied the judgment by the end of this period, we may be able to renew or extend it.

LEARN MORE

NEGOTIATE A SETTLEMENT:

In some cases, once we start taking action, debtors may be willing to negotiate with us and reach a settlement for a reduced amount or agree to a payment plan.

LEARN MORE

ENFORCEMENT OF JUDGMENTS ACROSS STATE LINES:

If the debtor has moved to another state, we can take legal steps to enforce the judgment in that jurisdiction

HERE’S HOW REAL PEOPLE HAVE RECEIVED MONEY WITH JUDGMENT COLLECTORS

A woman obtained a judgment against their ex-husband. She tried for years to collect money and was consistently told it was impossible to do so. Judgment Collectors found real estate owned by the ex-husband with his new spouse.

We did find debt was owing on the property but there was equity as well. So Judgment Collectors was undeterred as we believed the debtor wanted to protect the substantial equity, so we kept working even with the complication of the joint ownership with his new wife.

We initiated an action against the real estate, causing the owners to refinance and make a substantial payment toward the judgment.

Another judgment was referred to Judgment Collectors where a man owed a substantial amount of money but would not pay. We did some digging and researching found a bank account in his name. The bank account was subsequently garnished and soon that satisfied the entire judgment.

In a similar case, we found a car the debtor owned through some unconventional searching. To avoid action on the vehicle, the debtor settled the amount owing.

Some people who owe a judgment just can’t afford to pay it all at once so they push it off and delay any sort of payment. That was the case with one man in a western state, who agreed to start making monthly payments that didn’t cause him undue hardship. The debt will soon be paid.

There are debtors who own companies and mistakenly believe that shields them from paying debts or satisfying judgments. On one case, there was no response when we began collection efforts.

To spur action, we filed a charging order against a limited liability company the debtor owned and that caused him to begin making regular payments on a payment plan we proposed.

NO WORRIES, JUST SOLUTIONS

Our clients include individuals, small businesses, landlords, banks, and more. They all rely on us to put our knowledge, skills, and experience to work for them. It takes professionals like Judgment Collectors to understand the most efficient and legal way to get your money from debtors, no matter what type of client you are.

MORE THAN JUST DEBT COLLECTION

What we do is more than just standard debt collection. Judgments are different than other debts because they have court action behind them. When a court enters a judgment against the debtor, the judgment is a legal recognition of the debt’s existence and the creditor’s right to collect.

With judgment in hand, creditors have access to certain collection tools that would otherwise be unavailable. Putting those tools to work is something we could not do without a judgment.
